James E. Rauh is a partner within the Hospitality, Alcohol and Leisure Industry Group at Greenspoon Marder. Mr. Rauh focuses his practice on the laws governing the nightlife, hospitality and alcohol industries, including diverse and multi-discipline areas of legal needs common to those industry clients. He has accumulated over 10 years of experience in those practice areas, including representing hotels, restaurants and nightclubs at all levels of municipal land use and zoning approvals, along with complete business licensing and permitting at the federal, state, and local levels.
Mr. Rauh’s experience includes working with nightlife, hospitality and alcoholic beverage industry clients in a wide variety of issues, including business transactions for the purchase and sale of hotels, restaurants and nightclubs, as well as the acquisition of alcoholic beverage licenses for those operations. His experience also includes all aspects of alcohol licensing and structuring of alcohol service operations, defending regulatory enforcement actions, administrative litigation, state and local government lobbying efforts relating to nightlife, hospitality and alcoholic beverage regulations, and commercial leasing for alcohol industry tenants, as well as assisting clients with business permitting and transfers of business licenses as a result of new business ventures, expansion, and national mergers and acquisitions between nightlife, hospitality and alcohol industry clients, including contractual issues, obtaining business tax receipts, building permitting, certificates of use and occupancy, and other related operational permits.
Mr. Rauh’s clients include real estate developers, hotels, restaurants and nightclubs, as well as management companies for those operations, situated in Miami Beach and other jurisdictions.
Mr. Rauh served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps and served as an Officer with the Second Marine Division and subsequently served in the Select Marine Corps Reserve as a Platoon Commander within TOW Company, 8th Tank Battalion, in Hialeah, Florida.
