Matthew Schiller is senior counsel in the Tax practice group at Greenspoon Marder LLP, concentrating in the complex field of tax controversy, with a recent focus on representing cannabis companies. His practice involves representing individuals and businesses before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities to resolve unpaid tax liabilities, in audits, and in the U.S. Tax Court.
Prior to joining Greenspoon Marder, Mr. Schiller established and led his own successful tax firm, where he concentrated on IRS and state representation. His practice encompassed tax debt management and resolution, entity formation issues, and ensuring ongoing compliance for individuals and businesses alike. Before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey, Mr. Schiller served as a consultant for several prominent tax consulting firms, where he tackled tax collection cases nationwide, provided ancillary tax and consulting services, and proactively monitored future tax activities to anticipate and address compliance issues.
Mr. Schiller earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Northern Colorado.
