Michael E. “Ellis” Marder II is an associate in the Litigation practice group at Greenspoon Marder LLP. As a former athlete, Mr. Marder focuses his practice on sports, entertainment, media and technology law, particularly with regard to NIL rights for athletes and entertainers alike. Through his sports background, Mr. Marder has significant proficiency in creating meaningful relationships with athletes and entertainers, which enables him to find the right solutions that truly meet their needs. In addition, Mr. Marder concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, primarily concerning legal disputes involving businesses often related to contract and property issues. Mr. Marder is also well-versed in real estate law and has significant experience in drafting real estate agreements and negotiating real estate transactions from start to finish on behalf of clients.

Mr. Marder received a four-year scholarship to play football for the University of Connecticut. Mr. Marder made the Big East Academic Honor Roll in 2012 and the AAC Academic Honor Roll in 2013, 2014 and 2015 as well as the Dean’s list in 2016.

While attending law school at Stetson University College of Law, Mr. Marder served as a Stetson Ambassador for three years. He also served as Secretary of Investment and Finance Law Association. During his law school tenure, Mr. Marder worked as a summer associate for two consecutive years at Greenspoon Marder’s offices in New York and Orlando, respectively, concentrating his efforts in legal research, Litigation and Corporate matters. Mr. Marder worked during his last year of law school at Greenspoon Marder’s Tampa office working in Complex Litigation, conducting research and assisting senior partners prepare for trial.
