MIAMI, FL – August 6, 2018 – Greenspoon Marder and The Latin American Lawyer (by Iberian Lawyer ) will host an Investment and Citizenship Portfolios Forum on September 13th at the firm’s Miami office . Greenspoon Marder partners, Carl Linder and Patricia Gannon will be featured speakers along with Michael Daszkal, Director and Practice Leader of the International Tax department of Daszkal Bolton and Joaquin Quirante, CEO of Four Trees Merchant Partners. The discussion in Miami will bring together wealth management experts, family offices, wealth managers, investment advisors, private banks as well as international and in-house corporate counsel to discuss emerging trends in the sector.
The forum will focus on reviewing and discussing foreign investment in the U.S. and the various types of U.S. immigration status’ that are available to non-resident aliens (NRAs). Topics will include: Immigration Status in the U.S., U.S. tax compliance requirements for NRAs, inbound investments, how the IRS treats foreign investors and inbound planning in the age of complete transparency.
Mr. Linder is co-chair of the International Wealth and Asset Planning Group at Greenspoon Marder. Mr. Linder has advised individual and business clients regarding corporate tax, international tax, estate and gift tax and state and local taxes. Mr. Linder works closely with financial institutions and other service providers in but not limited to Cook Islands, Belize, New Zealand, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Andorra, Bahamas, Nevis, Cayman Islands, St. Lucia, and Anguilla.
Ms. Gannon focuses her practice on business immigration. She advises multi-nationals on employment verification matters and develops various compliance strategies and programs. Ms. Gannon, as a member of the Foreign American Counsel, concentrates her international practice on global immigration and provides outbound assistance to foreign companies.
Mr. Galuppo has over 25 years of experience in the legal, tax, and accounting aspects of complex domestic and international transactions. He has worked with individuals and companies in different industries such as retail, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, financial services, construction, and real estate. He has extensive experience in domestic and international tax compliance and consulting regarding inbound and outbound corporate taxation.
Mr. Quirante has more than 25 years of international experience in capital markets and investment banking. Before founding Four Trees, he was the Head of Latin America at Storm Harbor Securities. He has completed numerous milestone capital raising, credit and M&A investments in Europe and the Americas. He has lived and worked in London, Madrid, Barcelona, Santiago de Chile and New York.
