Greenspoon Marder Attorneys Joshua Goldberg, Bruce Siegal, and Jon Lyman Advise Texoma FC on Franchise Expansion into USL League One

Miami – June 10, 2024 – Greenspoon Marder Entertainment and Sports Law attorneys Joshua Goldberg and Bruce B. Siegal, along with Corporate partner Jon Lyman, advised Texoma FC on purchasing an expansion franchise in the United Soccer League (“USL”)’s League One. Texoma FC’s ownership group consists of Jacob West and the West Family, Simon Keizer and Ben Watson, the Athlon Family Office led by De Anna Guerreiro, the Gronkowski Family (including Glenn Gronkowski, Gordie Gronkowski Jr., Chris Gronkowski, and Dan Gronkowski), and MLB pitcher Matt Barnes.

Texoma FC will kick off its inaugural season in 2025 in Sherman, Texas. The football club has plans to build a 7,000-seat stadium, mixed-used retail and entertainment district, and sports facilities to support local youth sports, as well as multi-family and single-family housing. Texoma FC also has a youth academy to support the development of young talent and rising stars.

USL League One is a professional men’s Division III soccer league sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation. League One currently consists of 12 teams with at least six additional teams expected to join the ranks in the next two seasons. The USL plans to introduce a promotion and relegation system in the near future.
