Given the current state of affairs and in our industry in particular, it seems worthwhile to highlight one bright spot. Bloomberg news reports that sales at liquor stores and home delivery services have increased sharply. They report that consumers in general have not changed their drinking habits and that sales of popular vodkas, bourbons and tequilas remain fairly strong.
Bloomberg further reports that consumers are placing larger orders for home delivery with Drizzly, the largest home delivery application service, reporting a 50% increase in the size of the typical home order. Many other delivery services are reporting surges in sales as well. In addition to order size increases, many delivery services report the total number of orders for any given period are on the increase.
In an ironic twist, Corona beer reports a 5% increase in sales as well.
