GREENSPOON MARDER PROMOTES EIGHT ATTORNEYS TO SHAREHOLDER IN 2017
Fort Lauderdale, FL – January 12, 2017 – Greenspoon Marder proudly announces the promotion of eight attorneys to shareholder from various offices firm wide. The individuals recognized for their professional accomplishments and outstanding client service include: Cindy A. Crawford , Brian R. Cummings , Mark Lynn , Daniel C. Mazanec , David Merkur , James E. Rauh , Kathryn Saft and Alan Somerstein .
Cindy A. Crawford was promoted from senior counsel to shareholder at the firm’s West Palm Beach office. For more than 10 years, Ms. Crawford has represented clients in matters pertaining to complex dissolution of marriage, paternity, prenuptial agreements, alimony, child support, equitable distribution and parental responsibility as part of the firm’s Marital and Family Law practice. Ms. Crawford holds an undergraduate degree from Florida State University and a law degree from George Washington University.
Brian R. Cummings was promoted from senior counsel to shareholder. A member of Greenspoon Marder’s Complex Business Litigation practice group at the firm’s Tampa office, Mr. Cummings focuses his practice on complex class action defense and general commercial litigation. He graduated cum laude from Stetson University College of Law, holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree from Lawrence University.
Mark Lynn was promoted from associate to shareholder at Greenspoon Marder’s office in Ft. Lauderdale. Mr. Lynn’s practice focuses on real estate transactional law, with an emphasis on complex commercial transactions, lender representation and land use matters. He graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, and attended the University of Pennsylvania for his undergraduate studies.
Daniel C. Mazanec was promoted from senior counsel to shareholder at the firm’s Miami office. As a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, he represents and advises businesses and entrepreneurs in commercial and intra-corporate disputes, consumer lawsuits, and intellectual property litigation matters. Mr. Mazanec holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.
David Merkur was promoted from associate to shareholder at the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. He serves as the Financial Services Practice Group’s Managing Attorney, dedicated to lender representation in all aspects of default litigation. Mr. Merkur also manages the Business Compliance practice group, which provides ancillary legal support and due diligence initiatives for some of the firm’s largest clients. He earned his juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida
James E. Rauh was promoted from senior counsel to shareholder within the firm’s Alcohol Beverage Industry Group. Mr. Rauh has accumulated over 10 years of experience representing nightlife, hospitality and alcoholic beverage industry clients in a wide variety of issues, including business transactions for the purchase and sale of hotels, restaurants and nightclubs, as well as the acquisition of alcoholic beverage licenses for those operations. He has a law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude, and a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University. In addition, Mr. Rauh served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps as an Officer with the Second Marine Division and then in the Select Marine Corps Reserve as a Platoon Commander within TOW Company, 8th Tank Battalion.
Kathryn Saft was promoted from senior counsel to shareholder at the firm’s Orlando office. Ms. Saft works within the Resort & Timeshare practice group, and concentrates her practice on regulatory compliance, and general transactional and complex litigation matters. She also focuses on designing and implementing regulatory compliance programs, defending against administrative complaints and investigations and monitoring and improving corporate compliance positions. In addition, she works on general business matters, marketing and real estate agreements. Ms. Saft graduated summa cum laude with a law degree from the University of Miami, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Emory University.
Alan Somerstein was promoted from associate to shareholder at the firm’s Fort. Lauderdale office. Mr. Somerstein is a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Banking practice groups. His real estate practice includes commercial and residential real estate transactional matters, including acquisition, finance, leasing and development. His practice also focuses on representing national, regional, and community financial institutions as well as private lenders in all aspects of business and real estate financing including real estate acquisition and construction lending as well as asset-based lending. Mr. Somerstein earned his law degree at Florida State University, and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida.
