CannaVest East has been created specifically with the needs of the institutional investor and sophisticated accredited investor in mind and will provide an in-depth look into the emerging cannabis industry and show attendees how to evaluate investment returns and achieve investment returns uncorrelated with the equity markets. Partners Jessica Wasserman and James Mann will be featured speakers at the event. Ms. Wasserman will speak on the “Investment Opportunities in Hemp & CBD” session. Mr. Mann will speak on the “Do You Know What You’re Buying? Risk Assessment & Risk Analysis of Cannabis Operators” session. This panel will address financial statement red flags, adjustments to EBITDA, long term vs. short term value plays and overcoming regulatory and compliance risks.

Jessica Wasserman is a partner in the International, Government Relations and Cannabis Law practice groups at Greenspoon Marder LLP. She has extensive experience in politics, lobbying, regulatory advocacy including Food and Drug Administration regulated products, and law. Ms. Wasserman has held senior positions in the Executive Branch involving international economic and trade policy, at the Department of Commerce and Department of Agriculture. Ms. Wasserman also works regularly with the U.S. Congress.

James B. Mann is a partner with the Tax practice group Greenspoon Marder LLP. Mr. Mann has over 25 years of experience serving as a trusted advisor to a broad range of stakeholders in the energy and financial services industries. He counsels clients on the new changes in the tax law, as well as cannabis tax issues. Mr. Mann advises financial institutions regarding international tax, structuring renewable energy asset-based bank loans and securitizations, cross-border tax-advantaged partnerships and securitizations, project finance, and renewable energy deals.
